Six killed by twin blasts in Indian state of Assam

NEW DELHINULL people were killed and sixty injured, 34 of them seriously in twin blasts which rocked Nalbari area of Assam state on Sunday.
 
The bombs planted on two bicycles went off in succession damaging vehicles parked nearby areas.

A senior police official has held ULFA responsible for the blasts ahead of outfits Martyrs Day on November 27.

The police have indicated that a group of nine militants belonging to ULFA’s 709 and 27 battalions have entered the state to carry out subversive activities.

Meanwhile, two security men of Central Reserve Police Force were killed on Sunday when Naxals triggered a landmine blast in Jharkhand’s Gumla district.

The landmine blew up an anti-landmine vehicle on which they were travelling, a senior police official said.
