| Syed Ali Gilani arrested in Srinagar Pakistan Times Jammu & Kashmir Desk SRINAGAR (IHK)NULL occupied Kashmir, the Indian police arrested the veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader Syed Ali Gilani on Tuesday to prevent him from addressing a function of doctors and medical students, reports KMS. The function was to be held at the Government Medical College in Srinagar. After the arrest, the veteran leader was lodged in police station Shergarhi. Earlier, addressing a press conference at his residence in Srinagar, Syed Ali Gilani said that permanent peace in South Asia was impossible without resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. He announced that complete strike would be observed in Pulwama district on Friday in the fifth phase of district-wise protests against the occupation of Kashmiris’ private land by Indian troops. APHC leader, Ghulam Ahmed Mir, addressing his party workers in Thannamandi, urged India to accept the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir and create an atmosphere for the tripartite talks to resolve the dispute. On the other hand, Indian troops, in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred one more innocent Kashmiri youth at Tangdhar in Kupwara.
