ISLAMABAD: The Departmental Development Working Party (DDWP) has approved 16 sports related development projects costing Rs.342.883 million.
 
Of these, two projects worth Rs.84.498 projects have been approved for capital Islamabad, six projects costing Rs.133.376 million for Punjab, two projects of Rs.68.766 million for Sindh, three projects worth 35.692 million for Balochistan and three projects costing Rs.20.551 million have been approved for NWFP, a spokesman of Sports Ministry said.

The projects were approved during DDWP meeting held under the chairmanship of Federal Secretary of Ministry of Sports, Anisul Hasnain Musavi at Federal Ministry of Sports here.

Among others, Waheed Rana, Deputy Chief Planning Division, Abdul Moeed,  Deputy Financial Advisor(DFA), Ministry Of Finance, Senior Joint Secretary Ministry of Sports, DG PSB and officials Ministry of Sports and PSB attended the meeting.

The projects approved for capital city Islamabad include establishment of Project Monitoring Cell (PMC) with approved cost of Rs 32.105 million and construction of Sports Residential Academy at PSC with the cost of Rs 52.393 million.

For Punjab province, DDWP approved the project of Rs.5.167 million for upgradation of football ground at Mouza Yagbus, District Nankana Sahib besides construction of Sports Stadium at Jaranwala costing Rs 11.507 million.

Projects related to Construction of Multipurpose Sports Hall at Sargodha costing Rs 52.393 million, construction of players hostel, Boundary Wall and Flood lights at Ayub Bha Hockey Stadium, Khushnab costing Rs 24.804 million, construction of Sports Stadium and Badminton Hall at Ahmedpur Sharkia, Bahawalpur costing Rs 24.945 million and construction of Sports Facilities at Ghakkar, Dist Gujaranwala costing Rs. 14.560 million were also approved in the meeting.

For Sindh province, DDWP approved two projects including construction of Boundary Wall, Road network and Paved area at PSB coaching centre, Karachi with approved cost of Rs.13.766 million and construction of Swimming Pool at Benazirabad costing Rs 55.00 million.

The projects approved for Balochistan included, construction of Boundary Wall and Seating steps at football stadium Tehsil Wadh District Khuzdar with approved cost of  Rs.11.741 million.

It also approved construction of sportsmen Hostel at Ghoush Baksh Bezenjo Stadium, Khuzdar costing Rs.12.210 million, construction of Sports Stadium at Mashkail, Dist Washuk costing 11.741 million.

For NWFP the working party approved projects for upgradation of football ground at Kohat with approved cost of Rs 9.352 million, construction of Malik Muzaffar Sports Stadium at Ouch, Lower Dir costing 8.556 million and provision of Tubewell including Pump Room at Hockey Ground Abotabad costing Rs 2.643 million.
