Paddy purchase Centres to be set in Pujab

MULTAN: Foreign Minister Mukhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi said on Monday that paddy farmers should not worry about sale of their commodity as centres for its procurement would be established in South Punjab.

Talking to mediapersons here, he said  he had written  to federal minister for Food and Agriculture Nazar Muhammad Gondal for setting up paddy crop purchase centre in South Punjab besides discussing the matter with prime minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gillani.
 
He urged Punjab government to extend cooperation to the federal government in purchase of paddy as Punjab government had enough resources and experienced staff.

The foreign minister said paddy would be exported to other countries adding  Malaysia has shown interest in purchase of 40,000 ton paddy from  Pakistan.
