'Pakistan Times' Kashmir Desk

SRINAGAR (IHK): In occupied Kashmir, senior Kashmiri Hurriyet leader Syed Ali Gilani said Wednesday that India would not be able to suppress Kashmiris’ liberation struggle by enacting periodical election dramas in occupied Kashmir.

Addressing a press conference at his residence where he has been put under house arrest, Syed Ali Gilani said that India wanted to mislead the international community into believing that normalcy had returned to the occupied territory, whereas Kashmiris were determined to continue their liberation struggle till it reached its logical end, reports KMS.

In the recent two phases of polls, the senior Hurriyet leader added, the eight hundred thousand occupation troops had converted voting areas into cantonments.

On the other hand, the occupation authorities continued to keep the APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq under house arrest for the fourteenth day today.

Kashmiri Journalists Association in a meeting in Srinagar condemned in strong terms the attack by the troops on a Journalist, Reyaz Ahmed, while he was discharging his professional duties in Baramulla town.

Dozens of the students in the town could not reach their examination centres as the troops stopped them and beat them severely.

A delegation of APHC AJK, Chapter presented a memorandum to the United Nations Observers Office in Islamabad today emphasising that the farcical polls in occupied Kashmir did not provide any alternative to Kashmiris’ self-determination.
