NEW YORK: Harvard University Wednesday awarded Medal of Freedom to deposed chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, the third person to have received this award.

Before Iftikhar Chaudhry, the award had been conferred only on two persons namely justice Tharsan Marshall and Nelson Mendella.

Justice Iftikhar on the occasion also addressed the students and faculty of Harvard Law School.
