ISLAMABAD: President
Asif Ali Zardari Tuesday said the government has taken onboard
all political forces into confidence over the issue of Kashmir
and nation will soon hear some good news.
Addressing his first press conference soon after taking oath
of his office as President, Asif Ali Zardari hinted holding of
a caucus on the Kashmir issue soon so as to seek resolution of
lingering issue.
Zardari said he had a discussion with leader of PML-N Nawaz
Sharif on the issue and hoped to take the process ahead at a
faster pace.
He pointed at the on-going back-channel dialogue with India to
resolve the issue.
“We intend to take it [Kashmir issue] to the Parliament’s
Committee on Kashmir and we want to make progress before the
Congress government goes in for the election ... we hope to
give good news to nation soon.”
