Mobilink Hunt for Heroes 2008 Edition is back on the Hunt

KARACHI: Mobilink, the country’s market leader in cellular communication with over 32 million customers and a subsidiary of the Orascom Telecom group, has launched the countrywide 2008 Edition of the Mobilink Hunt for Heroes campaign targeting the Under-16 age group; it is part of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s Youth Development Program.

Last year, after the remarkable success of the 2007 edition of Mobilink Hunt for Heroes initiative, the campaign produced several budding young cricketers into the limelight, many of them going on to play for the junior string of Pakistan.

Reaching out to the farthest corners of the country, both in service and talent-hunting activity, Mobilink is search for cricketing talents in almost 60 districts across the nation. The selected players will be trained at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore and groomed for the upcoming 2011 World Cup.

The 2008 Edition of the campaign will feature 12 regional teams, made up from amongst the selected probable players, who will fight for top honors in the “Mobilink Hunt for Heroes Tournament 2008”.

Our selection process is stringent and based purely on merit and performance; the players with outstanding talent are expected to make the next level of the campaign.”

Professional coaches at the National Cricket Academy have pointed out that there are at least three or four players with exceptional talent, found through the Mobilink Hunt for Heroes 2007, who have potential for making it into the national team in the coming years. For greater reach into the rural areas of the country, ATV has been brought on-board as the media partner. Regular news and updates will be featured on the channel.
