Fahim warns Wapda to carve bills as per loadshedding hours
Pakistan Times' National News Desk

ISLAMABAD: PPP leader Makhdoom Amin Fahim Thursday warned Wapda to carve the electricity bills according to the loadshedding hours or get ready to face the wreath and anger of the poor.

Expressing grave concern over the energy crisis during his talk with the mediapersons here at the Parliament House, the PPP leader said though the Wapda was conducting loadshedding from 8-9 hours daily, yet there were no reduction of amounts in the electricity bills.

“The poor cannot even sleep entire nights as they are deprived of the facility of even a fan and the loadshedding continues for 8-9 hours daily.

Hence the bills are showing much higher prices,” he said. Commenting over the budget, Fahim said the budget should reflect the apathy of the middle class.

The budget should aim at giving relief to the common man, he asserted. Commenting over the decision of withdrawal of subsidy over oil, gas and electricity bills, the PPP leader said the order had been imposed by “those who provide loans to the country”.

To a question regarding his next meeting with party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari, Fahim said the Co-Chairman was busy in resolving the issues confronting the government.

“The activities of Asif Zardari have increased manifold while my activities have reduced significantly,” he remarked.

He said whether or not the party needed him, he badly needs the love and support of the party workers, which was an asset for him.

Commenting over the judges’ issue, Fahim said that the coalition parties were holding talks to reinstate the judges, adding that another meeting of PPP Chief Asif Zardari and PML-N leader Mian Nawaz Sharif was on the cards.

“Let us hope that the meeting would bear fruit,” he concluded. ●
