ATC adjourns hearing n Benazir Murder case till 31st May

RAWALPINDI: The Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) No.1 here on Saturday postponed hearing against five accused allegedly involved in assassination of former Premier Benazir Bhutto till May 31st, while hearing regarding bail application of the three accused was also adjourned till May 31st.

Former Premier and PPP Chairperson Mohterma Benazir Bhutto was martyred in a suicide attack soon after she addressed a public rally in connection with the elections campaign at Liaqat Bagh on 27th December, last year.

Meanwhile, the judge of the learned court ATC No. 1, Ch. Habib ur Rehman while permitting the application for juvenile trial of two accused Sher Zaman and Aitzaz Shah allowed for the bone examination of the accused to assess their ages.

Naseer Ahmed Tanoli advocate appeared before the court on behalf of the accused.

The hearing regarding the R A Bazar and Civil Lines suicide attacks was put off till 31 May due to non presence of Challan by the Police in the case.

All the five accused allegedly involved in the assassination of Mohterma Benazir Bhutto including Hassnain Gull, Rafaqat, Aitzaz Shah, Sher Zaman and Abdul Rashid were produced before the Judge of ATC No.1 of Ch. Habib ur Rehman, amid tight security arrangements.●
