ISLAMABAD: Former Punjab Chief Minister, Mian Shahbaz Sharif said an earlier
resolution of the judicial issue was imperative so that the government could
focus its attention to solve other problems inherited from the past regime.
Talking to a private television channel, the PML(N) leader said, the nation
is stuck in judiciary issue while there are many other crises to be resolved
such as electricity, food shortage, inflation, unemployment etc.
Shahbaz said that some elements were busy in hatching conspiracies against
the successful functioning of coalition government but their efforts would
fail.
“We are putting the mechanisms in place to resolve the differences and our
opponents would be disappointed”, the former Punjab CM said.
To a question he said, if there are some black sheep within the ranks of
coalition partners, they would be exposed sooner or later.
He said the nation has tolerated dictatorship for eight years and the
coalition partners would of course need some time to balance the things.
An earlier report had said; Two component parties of the ruling coalition,
Muslim League-N and Awami National Party have expressed their reservations
over postponement of the bye-elections.
It is being expected that the decision of delay in the bye-polls may be
reversed. Sources inside the coalition say that the government could not
function in existing shape if the decision about delaying the bye-elections
would not be cancelled.
Muslim League-N and Awami National Party have expressed their reservations
on the issue.
The credibility of the NWFP government is being damaged with postponement of
the elections, ANP has intimated to the major partner of the coalition
Pakistan People’s Party, sources said.
Muslim League-N was of the view that the elections have been deferred "to
stop entry of Shahbaz Sharif in Punjab Assembly".● |
