Wheat price go upto Rs.2,000 per 100 kg bag

KARACHI: Price of wheat has gone up to Rs.2,000 per 100-kg bag – the highest level in open market.

Media reports qoute market sources as saying that the price of wheat has been increased by further Rs.100 per 100 kg bag after which it is being sold at the highest level of Rs.2,000 per 100 kg bag.

They said that the section 144 imposed on the inter-provincial movement of wheat has still not been lifted due to which Karachi is suffering from big shortage of wheat.

According to another report, Twenty floor mills in Karachi have been closed due to non-availability of wheat.

Sources of the Pakistan Floor Mills Association told Geo News that due to non-availability of wheat, 20 floor mills have been closed in Karachi where as many more mills are feared to be closed in the next two to three days.●
