Shoaib Akhtar leaves for India,
to play in IPL

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan
speedster Shoaib Akhtar leaves for New Delhi from Lahore to play in Indian
Premier League.
Federal interior advisor Rehman Malik intervened and helped to settle
differences between Shoaib Akhtar and chairman PCB Dr. Nasim Ashraf.
After issuance of visa from
the Indian High Commission, Shoaib left for New Delhi today.
Talking to media before departure, Shoaib thanked Peoples Party co-chairman
Asif Zardari for his intervention to resolve the dispute.
Shoaib Akhtar will play for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier
League. The Kolkata team would play its next match in Bangalore on May 8.
According to an earlier report Federal interior advisor Rehman Malik said
that the differences between fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar and chairman PCB Dr.
Nasim Ashraf have been resolved and after that Shoaib Akhtar is leaving
today for India to play the Indian Premier League (IPL).
On the exclusive directive of co-chairman PPP Asif Ali Zardari, federal
interior advisor Rehman Malik invited chairman PCB Dr. Nasim Ashraf and fast
bowler Shoaib Akhtar at dinner where he settled the differences between
them.
On this occasion, Rehman Malik, Nasim Ashraf and Shoaib Akhtar talked with
journalists.
Rehman Malik said that the conflict between the fast bowler and the PCB
chairman has been ended and Shoaib Akhtar would leave for India to
participate in the IPL.● |
