Pakistan to Continue Support to Kashmiris: PM Gilani
'Pakistan Times' Kashmir Bureau

MUZAFFARABAD (AJK): Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani Wednesday reiterating Pakistan’s political, moral and diplomatic support to the Kashmiris said it will continue efforts for resolution of the dispute according to the aspirations of its people.

Talking to a delegation led by Convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Syed Yousuf Naseem, Prime Minister said Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir is clear and unequivocal.

In this regard, he said the composite dialogue process with India, will continue and the matter will be resolved according to the wishes of the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The delegation appreciated the position adopted by Pakistan. It apprised the Prime Minister of the problems being faced by the Kashmiri refugees in Pakistan.

Prime Minister Gilani assured that the government will consider increasing the daily allowance of these refugees.

PPP for AJK Development

And, addressing the party workers, the Prime Minister said it was due to their efforts and sacrifices that the PPP has come into power.

He said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was keen to ensure the development of Azad Kashmir and welfare of people and practical steps are being taken in this respect.

He said efforts are being made to fulfil all promises made in the party manifesto including food, clothing and shelter for everyone. The manifesto would be fully implemented, he added.

The Prime Minister said the PPP is a party of masses, having its roots not only in the four provinces and Azad Kashmir but also its chapters across the world.

He said the view of those who were critical of the party with the assumption that it does not name anyone for the Prime Minister’s position outside the Bhutto family has now proved wrong.

The Prime Minister said Asif Ali Zardari, Co-Chairman of the PPP, has proved such hypothetical view wrong by giving him an opportunity to serve the masses as premier.

Gilani said as the PPP leadership has decided to keep the party and government offices apart, he will not work as the Vice President of PPP.

The Prime Minister urged the party workers to remain united, further strengthen the party among the masses and work unitedly and with dedication for the progress and prosperity of the country.

Prayers were also offered on the occasion for the departed soul of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.●
