SRINAGAR (IHK): In occupied
Kashmir, the President of Peoples Democratic Party and Indian
parliamentarian, Mehbooba Mufti has admitted that it was the Indian
government which killed 32 Sikhs in Chittisingpora in March 2000.
The admission was made in a public gathering at Achabal in Islamabad.
Mehbooba Mufti said that it was a well-known fact that the Indian government
with the patronage of National Conference killed the members of Sikh
community at the time when US President Bill Clinton was on a visit to
India. She added, “And then five innocent persons were killed in a fake
encounter at Pathribal in Islamabad.”
.
Mehbooba quoting former Indian Deputy Prime Minister L.K.Advani’s
autobiography “My country My Life” said that Advani in his book has
mentioned that the then Chief-Minister and NC Patron, Dr. Farooq Abdullah
approached him and sought apology for ordering probe into the incident.
The PDP President also came down heavily on New Delhi for ordering the halt
on airing Pakistani television channels in occupied Kashmir.
She said that during former Chief Minister, Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah’s rule
Pakistan radio was banned and people were arrested for listening to the
Pakistan radio and now the history was being repeated.
“This is a sheer frustration on New Delhi’s part, it would lead us nowhere.
Instead of moving forward we are going a step backward,” she added.● |
