National solidarity is possible only with independence of Judiciary

OKARA: Barrister Ch.Aitzaz Ahsan, president, Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) has said that national solidarity is possible only with independent judiciary.

He observed this while addressing the lawyers at district bar here on Monday. A large number of lawyers, workers of political parties and members of civil society were also present on this occasion.

Ch.Aitzaz said the judiciary without Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary would not be acceptable and added that without restoration of judiciary the parliament would not be strong and powerful.

He said that the prosperity of the citizens and national solidarity was possible only if there is an independent judiciary.

He said the government had offered to restore 44 judges but they had rejected it adding that no formula would be accepted without Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.

He lauded the role of the lawyers of Okara district in the lawyers’ movement.
President District Bar Association Okara Ch.Sagheer Ahmed and Secretary General Sajjad Hassan also addressed the meeting.●
