Pakistan Army Chief addresses GHQ Officers

RAWALPINDI: The Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, while addressing the officers at General Headquarters said that every nation has a right to safeguard its national interest.

The Chief of Army Staff dilated on the importance of correct visualization of the threat to the nation.

He said that unless the whole spectrum of threat is analyzed, a wholesome response cannot be worked out.

He reiterated that consensus on threat is of utmost importance, in order to garner the public support.

The Chief of Army Staff also elaborated upon the concept of national security and said that defence of the country is best ensured when all elements of national power are harmonized.

The Chief of Army Staff also highlighted some of the measures that have been taken to make the functioning of the Army more efficient and responsive.●
