KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Monday
decided to boycott the Sindh Assembly session for indefinite period.
According to MQM sources, the decision in this regard was taken by the
party's Rabita Committee.
It said that boycott decision was taken in view of misbehaviour with MQM
women at the gate of Sindh Assembly building and misbehaviour of former
chief minister Dr. Arbab Ghulam Rahim.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has dissociated with a sad incident
at Sindh Assembly on Monday, saying that it was a plot against Pakistan
Peoples Party by involving some PPP (Shaheed Bhutto) workers and is highly
condemned.
In a press statement issued here on Monday, the PPP made it clear that it is
previous government who was controlling the administration and police and
from PPO to CCPO are implementing the orders of former rulers.
Even today (Monday), the administrative machinery and police were given full
authority to control entry into Sindh Assembly under a special strategy.
Some PPP (SB) workers were smuggled into the Assembly premises to commit the
incident, which PPP has nothing to do with.
PPP demanded immediate suspension of PPO Sindh and CCPO Karachi forthwith.● |
