ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister
Yousuf Raza Gilani has taken notice of five-year ban on fast bowler Shoaib
Akhtar by the cricket board, sources said.
Prime Minister Gilani has taken notice of five-year ban on Shoaib and issued
directives to Pakistan Cricket Board to revise the decision, the sources
added.
It is recalled that the angry supporters of Shoaib Akhtar held a
demonstration in Rawalpindi against the ban on the fast bowler on
disciplinary grounds.
Meanwhile, Member National Assembly Hanif Abbasi along with four other MNAs
has submitted at the National Assembly secretariat an adjournment motion
against the ban imposed on Shoaib Akhtar from playing cricket for five
years.
Talking with media after submitting the adjournment motion, PML (N) leader
Hanif Abbasi said that he has raised questions in his request about the
appointment of the PCB chairman, his perks, tenure of his office and the
list of the PCB employees.
Hanif Abbasi on this occasion said that PCB chairman Dr Nasim Ashraf has
destroyed the career of Shoaib Akhtar on the basis of his personal enmity
and this issue would be raised in the fullest way in the National Assembly.● |
