PPP leaders vow to continue mission of ZAB, Benazir
'Pakistan Times' Political Desk

LAHORE: PPP leaders Monday paid rich tributes to Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto for their services for the cause of democracy and betterment of poor masses of the country.

The leaders including Aziz ur Rehman Chan, Andul Qadir Shaeen, Fiaza Malik, Altaf Qureshi, Zia ullah Bankash, Zakria Butt, Munir Ahmad, Malik Mustaq Awan and Navid Ch. addressing a seminar held in connection with the death anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto here at Lahore Pres Club vowed to continue the mission of their great leaders who laid down their lives for democracy and the people of Pakistan.

They said that PPP government was committed to serve the masses and eliminate poverty, hunger, lawlessness and illiteracy from the country.

They welcomed the announcement of Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani regarding lifting of ban on trade and student unions and increasing wage to Rs 6000.

They said that it was the result of Benazir Bhutto’s sacrifice that PPP has formed the government and achieved the heavy mandate in the Feb 18 polls.

This government will serve the country and the people irrespective of differences and work for the cause of democracy, as it was the dream of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, they added.

They said that the party would continue its struggles for the stability, progress and prosperity of the country under the able leadership of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Co Chairman Asif Ali Zardari.

They lauded the efforts of Asif Ali Zardari for creating national consensus among different political parties which will help in strengthening the country.

PPP Punjab has finalised all arrangements to observe Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s death anniversary at Ghari Khuda Bakhsh on April 4 and in this connection caravans proceeded to Sindh on Monday, PPP leaders said.●
