PPP finalises arrangements to observe anniversary of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto

LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples Party, Punjab has made all arrangements to observe the death anniversary of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto at Ghari Khuda Buksh, Sindh on April 4.

This was told at separate meetings of PPP Punjab Executive Committee and Parliamentary Committee in Punjab Assembly here on Thursday.

Briefing newsmen after the Parliamentary Committee meeting at PCSIR Society, Parliamentary leader Raja Riaz said that all members of PA along with local party leaders and workers would fully participate in the anniversary.

He said that the elected MPAs have lauded the services of founder Chairman PPP Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto for the supremacy of democracy.

He said both the leaders sacrificed their lives for the integrity, solidarity, democracy and progress of the country.

Raja Riaz said that the MPAs have also reposed confidence on the leadership of Co-Chairman PPP Asif Ali Zardari.

He said that the parliamentarians also hailed the policy of Asif Zardari for forming coalition government in the centre and provincial level.

Earlier, briefing mediamen after PPP Punjab Executive Committee meeting at Faisal Town, General Secretary PPP Punjab Ghulam Abbas and Information Secretary Farzana Raja said that all divisional heads of the party participated in the meeting.

They said that the meeting fully endorsed the will of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto in which she nominated Asif Ali Zardari as PPP Chairman.

They said that the next government has to face big challenges like price hike, unemployment, wheat flour, power crises and poverty and added PPP was committed to eradicate these crises.

They said that the provincial party had given Rs 1,00,000 to the injured of Rawalpindi suicide bombing as compensation.

He said that a committee has been formed which will reach Neudero at April 1 for setting up camps to facilitate participants during Zulfiqar Bhutto anniversary.
He disclosed that a ‘caravan’ will leave for Ghari Ghuda Buksh to participate in the anniversary.

Both the office bearers also congratulated Makhdoom Yousaf Raza Gillani for his election as Prime Minister.

“ PPP and PML-N coalition is to serve country not for personal interests,” they added.●
