ISLAMABAD: Governor of NWFP, Awais Ahmed Ghani has summoned the provincial assembly session on March 28.

The governor has signed a summary sent to him for calling the NWFP Assembly session and the law department has issued notification to convene the session on March 28, provincial secretary of law Shahid Naseem said.

The elected members would take oath in the first session of the new assembly. Arbab Ayub Jan, a new-elect member, would administer the oath to fellow members, the law secretary added.

Meanwhile, the cabinet of NWFP has almost been finalised in consultation with coalition partners the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and others, Awami National Party (ANP) leader Afrasiab Khatak said Wednesday.

Talking to private TV channel ‘Dawn News’ he said Bashir Ahmed Bilour will take the charge of senior minister for local government, Arbab Ayub Jan will look after agriculture ministry, Mian Iftikhar Hussain is tipped as education minister, while Wajid Ali Khan will be made minister for environment, and provincial minister for prisons will be Mian Nisar Gul.

He said provincial assembly session has been called on Friday. Cabinet would be announced soon after the election of speaker, deputy speaker and after the ascertainment of leader of the house.●
