SWAT: Seven members of a family were burnt to death at Bar Laikot area in
scenic Kalam valley when their house suddenly engulfed by fire apparently
due to short circuiting late last night while they were fast asleep.
The dead included head of the family Talihmand son of Qalandar, his wife
Safeera bibi, his three daughters Kishwar 15, Haleema 12, Izzat Begum 19,
two sons Zakir Ali 8, and Hayatullah 5.
The police and local people recovered seven badly charred bodies from the
debris of the house and later buried in their ancestral graveyard amid
touching scenes.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire suddenly broke out in the six rooms
house and within no time the entire house converted into ashes.
The reason behind the tragic incident is stated to be short-circuiting.
Since the house was built of woods that was why it was difficult to
extinguish the fire, said an eyewitness.
