Pakistan beats China 2-0 to make 5-test
match series two all

BEIJING (China): Pakistan
beat China 2-0 in the second match in Chang Zhou to level 5-test match
series 2-all on Saturday evening.
“Unlike yesterday, Pakistan team played with unity and did not allow the
opponents free hand to make moves to attack on Pakistan goal post”, said the
coach of the Pakistan team Naveed Alam.
He said that in the first half forward Waqas Sharif scored through field
goal to open the account in the 23rd minute of the game.
Although, the Chinese team made a number of counter attacks but their
attempts were foiled by vigilant Goal custodian.
Naveed Alam pointed out that all the senior players including Rehan Butt,
Muhammad Saqlain, Shakeel Abbasi and Captain Zeeshan Ashraf as well as the
junior players put in all efforts and played very well.
In the second half he said full-back Mohammad Atiq further improved the lead
to 2-0 when he hit the penalty corner shot with big bang to the Chinese goal
post.
The coach while commenting on yesterday 4-2 defeat at the hands of Chinese
said that one can say that yesterday’s was “a bad day” for us. But, he noted
that today, the team bounced back very strongly to win the match and making
the series 2-all.
Pakistan will play the third match against host China on March 18.● |
