18 killed by road accident in NW Pakistan

ABBOTTABAD: At least 10 persons were killed when a speedy jeep fell into
deep ravine near Nagri Dhodal area on Bhatanki Road here on Sunday, police
said.
The tragic incident occurred when the driver of the vehicle lost control
while negotiating a sharp turn in the mountainous area of Nagri Dhodal and
fell into deep ditch.
The jeep was coming from Bhatanki to Lara bazaar Abbottabad. As result,
driver Amjad son of Sultan, Fazlur Rehman son of Sher Zaman, Hafizur Rehman
son of Master Gul Faraz, Musanif son of Hafizur Rehman, Shafqat son of Gul
Faraz, Abdul Wajid son of Saddique, Maulvi Naseer son of Muhammad Arif,
Ameer son of Ghazi Khan and Tajmul son of Khaliqdad Khan died on the spot.
The police and local volunteers rushed to the scene and started rescue
operation. The bodies of the victims were later shifted to Bhatanki village
aimed chest beating by their relatives.
And a report from Malakand says that at least eight persons including five
of a family were killed and four injured when a tractor plunged into a river
from a mountain in Silay Patay Area on Sunday.
According to local police officials, the deceased were identified as
driverMakmal Syed, Fazal Nawab, Suleman, Jawad and Altaf were of one family
while other three include Taj Muhammad, Habib and Shahid.
The injured persons include Shahid, Junaid and Obaid who were shifted to
Peshawar for treatment.● |
