OIC reaffirms complete solidarity with people of Jammu and Kashmir

MIRPUR (AJK): The Organization of Islamic Conference has reaffirmed the complete solidarity and support of the Islamic world for the right of self-determination to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

This has been stated in the final communique issued at the conclusion of the 11th OIC Summit in Senigal, a report received by 'Pakistan Times' [Daily Web Newspaper] from from Dakar said Sunday.

The communique also called for the resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions and wishes of the Kashmiri people.

The Summit also adopted several important resolutions including two resolutions tabled by Pakistan on Jammu and Kashmir and reform of the UN Security Council.

In his address to the Summit, Foreign Minister Inamul Haq reiterated Pakistan’s commitments to peaceful resolution of long standing disputes of Kashmir and Palestine.

He said that the durable peace in South Asia can only be achieved by amicably resolving the core dispute of Jammu and Kashmir.

He conveyed Pakisan’s profound gratitude for OIC’s continued support to the Kashmiri people in their valiant struggle to achieve their right to self-determination.●
