Five Probables on Injury List in Pakistan

KARACHI: Five hockey
probables are on the injured list ahead of two-day Pakistan Champions Trophy
trials to be held at Hockey Club of Pakistan Stadium from Saturday.
Those who are resting because of injuries of different nature included
Captain Rehan Butt, Ghazanfar Ali and Zeeshan Ashraf all having hamstring
problems while Muhammad Amin is suffering from fever and Ihsanullah had knee
injury.
“We expect Rehan, Ghazanfar, Zeeshan and Amin to be fit in next couple of
days but Ihsanullah will be taken to an specialist for full check-up,”
Team’s manager-cum-Chief coach Islahuddin Siddiqui said on Monday.
He said he was taking Ihsanullah, who had featured in all the three events
under Islah in Kuala Lumpur, Moscow and Beijing. He said because of knee
trouble, he was out of action for the last three days.
Islah said orthopaedic surgeon Najam Qureshi will be making extensive
check-up of knee trouble to know the exact cause of trouble.
He said Ihsan injury was out of range of physio Faiz-ur-Rehman and that he
will be seeing a specialist.
He informed that goal-keeper Nasir Ahmed, who was having bout of Dengue has
joined the camp after making full recovery and was doing well in the
training camp.
Olympian Islah said he was sending camp trainees for eye check at Akhtar Eye
Clinic because of some matches of his team will be played under floodlights.
He said first batch of players will be visiting Akhtar Eye Clinic Monday
evening and while remaining players will be going there every day at the end
of the training session.●
