No Change in Petroleum Products Prices in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has decided to maintain the existing prices of petroleum products for the next 15 days while advisor of the prime minister for finance Dr. Salman Shah said that the government is bearing a deficit of eight billion rupees each month due to not increasing the prices of petroleum products.

According to a statement issued from the OGRA, the per litre price of petrol would be Rs.53.75, HOBC Rs.64.88, kerosene oil Rs.35.23 and light diesel Rs.32.57.

Dr. Salman Shah said that the government had allocated an amount of 15 billion rupees in the budget as a subsidy for not increasing the prices of petroleum products and has so far paid Rs.11 billion on this account.

He said that there is a danger of increasing the price of oil to $100 per barrel in international market but it is expected to be lowered by mid-February.●
