Pakistan defers Wheat import from Argentine

KARACHI: Pakistan has put off its decision to import wheat from Argentine at $436 per ton for want of the desired terms not being met.

Government sources told that the wheat import from Argentine was comparatively cheaper for Pakistan.

Yet, its import was not feasible and Pakistan was now considering import of Russian wheat at $446 per ton, sources told.

They said that initially 50,000 tons of wheat could be imported from Russia and further 1,00,000 tons of wheat has also been offered by Russia at the same price.●
