Application to Register FIR of
Karachi Blasts Submitted

KARACHI: SHO Buhadarabad, Abid Hussain Shah Sunday received a one-page
application of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto regarding October 18
bomb blasts in which over 144 persons were killed and over 500 injured.
The application was submitted at Buhadarabad Police Station by PPP leaders
who included Syed Qaim Ali Shah, President PPP Sindh, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro,
Leader of Opposition in Sindh Assembly. Shery Rehman, Central Information
Secretary PPP and others.
On the occasion SHO told the PPP leaders that already an FIR 103/2007 had
been registered and second FIR cannot be registered. However, after
arguements he received the application of Benazir Bhutto as FIR.
Later talking to media, Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that while we were busy in
lifting the bodies and shifting the injured to hospitals, the police and
administration showed haste in registering the FIR in the case against
unknown persons.
He told reporters that they had come to register FIR on behalf of Benazir
Bhutto as a direct affectee in the case and the application they submitted
today is the real FIR.
He told media that second FIR can be registered and in fact the FIR should
have been taken from the person who is directly affected.
In fact, he said, the police and administration should have come to Bilawal
House and get the FIR registered.●
