Villages

SRINAGAR (IHK): Puppet
authorities have imposed night curfew in the villages along the Line of
Control in far-flung areas of occupied Kashmir.
The district magistrate, Jammu, ordered imposition of night curfew in all
villages of the Jammu region.
The district magistrates in the Kashmir valley have also ordered
restrictions on the movement of civilians in all villages along LoC at
night.
The curfew will remain in force daily between 10 pm and 5 am.
According to another report by Kashmir Media Service, as India’s
Independence Day draws closer, security cover, frisking, crackdown and
search operation have become the order of the day in occupied Kashmir.
Frequent search and frisking operations have badly hit the normal life of
common masses from last one week. One hears people complaining about it all
the time but seeing it from a close range is an altogether nightmarish
experience.
At a distance of every half a mile a security checkpoint has been set up.
Pedestrians, commercial and personal vehicles are facing inconvenience due
to security checks. People are subjected to intimidation by troops if they
fail to produce identity cards.
The conflict cauldron in the valley seems to be simmering at high intensity.
"This is really confusing. I have to prove my identity at seven check points
while walking from Jehangir Chowk to Dal Gate," said Shahid Ahmad, a
student.
Especially, during nights, movement of people has been almost crippled, thus
posing a great danger to the needy people who travel in lieu of emergency
conditions during the odd hours.
Abdul Rahman, who lives in the close vicinity of Bakshi Stadium, where the
official function on August 15, is scheduled to be held said, "The huge
deployment of security forces around our houses, is posing a great danger
for us.
It makes us suspect that something is going to happen definitely. And if
anything happens, we will become the first causality of the fire of forces,"
he said.
The conditions are similar around the Valley's lone maternity hospital 'Lal
Ded' that lies close to Bakshi Stadium.●
