Sherpao Optimistic on Pakistan-Afghan Joint Jirga

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao Tuesday expressed the hope that joint Pakistan-Afghan jirga would help yield better results for peace in the region.

Talking to media at Islamabad Airport prior to his departure for Kabul the Minister said that emphasize would be made on peace by seeking the ways and means to eliminate extremism and terrorism from the region.

He said the jirga would prove to be a milestone to check the tendencies of extremism and terrorism in both Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The initiative would help strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries, he added.●
