Pakistan Armed Forces Played Vital Role in Country’s Integrity: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Monday said that the armed forces of Pakistan have always played a critical and important role in the country’s integrity and sovereignty.

He was talking to a group of MNAs who called on him at his Parliament House Chamber here.

The Prime Minister said that whenever the country is faced with any natural calamity like floods and earthquakes, the armed forces have provided relief, medical aid, assistance and logistics to help the affected people.

The Prime Minister said that the armed forces of the country are playing a key role in maintaining the country’s security and sovereignty inside the country and on our borders.

The Pakistan Armed Forces are also playing a major role in peacekeeping operations around the world for the United Nations which is an indication of their professionalism and commitment, he added.

The Prime Minister discussed with the MNAs the current political situation and said that the election of President from the current assemblies would ensure continuity and prosperity of the country.

The Prime Minister said that PML and its allied parties are gearing up for the general elections and enjoy the confidence of the people because of their track record, development and governance.

The MNAs expressed full confidence in the President, the Prime Minister and the government policies and said that they are geared up in their constituencies to meet the needs of the people.

The MNAs and parliamentarians who called on him included Minister for Information and Broadcasting Muhammad Ali Durrani, Minister for Food and Agriculture Sikandar Hayat Bosan, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, Sardar Talib Nakai, Haroon Paracha, Malik Saifullah Tiwana, Rana Tariq Javed, Saeed Akmal Chaudhary, Ms Razina Tufail, Pir Muhammad Shah Khagga, Asghar Shah, Nazir Ahmed, Ghulam Murtaza Maitla and Malik Hamid Yar.●
