Pakistan, Mauritius Sign
Preferential Trade Agreement

PORT LOUIS (Mauritius):
Pakistan and Mauritius have signed Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) to
further strengthen economic relations between the two countries.
The agreement was signed at the New Government House, Port Louis by Federal
Minister for Commerce, Hamayun Akhtar Khan and Mauritian Minister for
Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Cooperation, Madam Dulloo.
In addition to PTA, six Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) were also signed
on the occasion, said a message of High Commission of Pakistan in Mauritius
received here on Thursday.
The MoUs included, Agreement on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Customs
Matters, MoU between State Trading Corporation Mauritius and Trading
Corporation of Pakistan, MoU on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Matters, MoU
between Small Enterprises and Handicraft Development Authority (SEHDA)
Mauritius and Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA)
Pakistan, MoU between Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA)
and Mauritius Standards Bureau (MSB) and MoU between Trade Development
Authority of Pakistan (TDAP ) and Enterprise Mauritius (EM).
Earlier, Humayun Akhtar Khan called on Prime Minister Mauritius, Dr. Navin
Ramgoolam, Deputy Prime Minister, Dr. Rasheed Beebeejaun and other high
political dignitaries.
He also unveiled the nameplate of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah street in
Plaine Verte, Port Louis in the prepense of Minister of Housing and Lands
Mauritius, Ashraf Dullul and Minister for Local Government, James Burty and
Lord Mayor of Port Louis, Reza Issack.●
