Assailants Kill Baluchistan Spokesman Raziq Bugti

QUETTA: Unknown armed men gunned down spokesman and media consultant to Chief Minister Balochistan Government Raziq Bugti near GPO Cross on Zarghoon Road, Provincial Police Officer Tariq Khosa told journalists on Friday.

Raziq Bugti was going home after an interview to Pakistan Television regarding ongoing relief and rehabilitation operation in flood hit areas.

He received multiple bullets on his right arm and temple causing his immediate death.

The killers escaped from the scene after the incident.

The body of Raziq Bugti was rushed to the hospital for autopsy.

Police officials, media persons and a large number of people gathered in the hospital when his body arrived there.

The body of Raziq Bugti would be taken to Sibi for burial. He was 55. He leaves behind a widow four children including two sons and two daughters.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has strongly condemned the terrorist act in Quetta in which Razik Bugti the spokesman of Baluchistan Government was killed by the firing of terrorists.

He said that such acts of terrorism only serve the cause of anti-state elements who want to destabilise the country and create chaos.

The Prime Minister reiterated that these agents of terror would not be able to succeed in their evil designs as the government and the people of Pakistan are determined to eliminate such elements from the society.

Shaukat Aziz expressed his heart felt condolences over the death of Razik Bugti and prayed that Allah Almighty may grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with patience and fortitude.
