ISLAMABAD: Pakistanis are
missing altogether from the latest world top-20 list of men squash players.
While Malaysia’s Nicol David celebrates a full year at the top of the world
rankings for women, Egypt’s Amr Shabana has extended his run to 16 months in
the men’s rankings, according to the new July list issued by the
Professional Squash Association.
Since first heading the world list in April 2006, the 27-year-old Amr
Shabana from Cairo has won five PSA Super Series titles, bringing his career
Tour title total to 16.
Teenage compatriot Ramy Ashour holds his place at No2 behind Shabana - the
19-year-old Ramy from Cairo having picked up four PSA Tour titles this year.
In an unchanged top 20, Australia’s World Open champion David Palmer is at
three, ahead of Frenchmen Gregory Gaultier in fourth place and Thierry
Lincou at No.5.
