PJCA Lauded for Promoting
Pakistan-Japan Relations

ISLAMABAD: Japanese
ambassador Seiji Kojima on Wednesday lauded the services of Pakistan-Japan
Cultural Association in promoting friendship and goodwill between the two
countries.
He was speaking at a ceremony held at Japan Embassy to confer special
commendations to Syed Ijlal Haider Zaidi, President PJCA and Hafiz S.A.
Rehman, Senior Vice President PJCA.
The envoy appreciated the services of two PJCA pioneers for acting as a
bridge between the people of Japan and Pakistan so as to enhance mutual
understanding.
Seiji Kojima said Syed Ijlal Haider Zaidi and Hafiz S.A Rehman worked
selflessly to promote Pak-Japan cultural relations, and the Embassy of Japan
greatly valued their services.
The ceremony was attended by a large number of admirers of the two PJCA
personalities. Shakeel Ahmed, Executive Member of PJCA, Islamabad, received
the award on behalf of Syed Ijlal Haider Zaidi.
This year the two countries are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the
signing of cultural agreement between Japan and Pakistan.
Since the cultural agreement between Pakistan and Japan in 1957, which is a
basic instrument to broaden and deepen cultural relationships, the exchanges
in culture, sports, youth and education have steadily increased.●
