Two New Ministers included in Punjab Cabinet

LAHORE: Two new ministers have been included in the Punjab cabinet, under a political strategy. Their portfolios will be announced in a day or two.

Talking with media after the oath-taking ceremony in the Governor House, chief minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi said that after the murder of provincial minister Zill-e-Huma and omission of Sardar Hashim Galeja from the cabinet, Rai Mansab Ali and Sardar Dildar Ahmed Cheema have been taken into the cabinet.

In reply to a question regarding Lal Masjid operation, the chief minister said that the ulema, the government, Pakistan Muslim League and its president Chaudhry Shuja’at Hussain made every possible effort to resolve the issue through dialogue.

However, having no success the government was compelled to make the operation.

According to the sources, one of the new ministers Sardar Dildar Ahmed Cheema was elected MPA from Faisalabad on the ticket of the Pakistan Muslim League (Q). He belongs to the Jatt community whereas Rai Mansab Ali belongs to the Rajput community.●
