Fast Track Panel Umpires Seminar in Pakistan Today

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is holding a fast track panel umpires seminar from tomorrow (Tuesday) here at Gaddafi Stadium.

The seminar is aimed at giving experience and exposure to the panel of 10 upcoming and emerging umpires, said a spokesman of the PCB on Monday.

"Most of our senior umpires are reaching the age of retirement within two years and it is important to train the next breed of quality umpires at the earliest so that they can soon take their positions",he added.

He said quality in umpiring can be achieved only by proper selection and training of umpires.

This can be attained through imparting better knowledge of the laws and good field practice, he added.

General Manager umpires and referees PCB, Khizar Hayat will conduct the seminar.●
