Pakistan State Minister’s Name included in ECL

ISLAMABAD: The name of Minister of State for Communications Engineer Shahid Jamil Qureshi has been included in Exit Control List (ECL) due to reportedly his unsatisfactory account in probe in death of a Canadian national woman Kafila Siddiqui, which had occurred in mysterious circumstances.

The said action was taken as the inquiry team was unsatisfied with the account given by Shahid Jamil Qureshi, the sources said.

Shalimar Police have registered case against Engineer Shahid Jamil Qureshi after death of Kafila Siddiqui. A search warrant of his house was also been issued.

The case was registered under section 344 and 346 on the complaint of the brother of the deceased.

The complainant has alleged that Kafila Siddiqui was kept in confinement for over three months and held Shahid Jamil Qureshi responsible for the offence.

Canadian High Commission in Pakistan has sought details about the circumstances surrounding mysterious death of Kafila Siddiqui.●
