Abbas-Olmert Summit Postponed Indefinitely

RAMALLAH: A first summit between Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas in nearly two months has been postponed indefinitely, officials said on Wednesday.

"The summit has been postponed because difficulties emerged in the preparations. More discussions are needed to prepare for the summit," Abbas aide Nabil Amr said of the meeting that had been scheduled for Thursday.

"The date and location of the meeting has not yet been fixed and preparations are still under way," said chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erakat of what would have been the first Abbas-Olmert talks since April 15.●
