Rail Track Damage Bid Foiled in SW Pakistan

KARACHI: A sabotage bid to cut rail track between Rann Pathani and Jungshahi railway stations near Karachi has been foiled Tuesday and an accused has been arrested, sources said.

A stationmaster after getting report that some people were trying to cut the railway track informed the railway police about it.

The accused who had brought gas cylinder and other iron cutting implements with them in a truck, while seeing the railway police opened firing over the policemen.

The police after counter firing captured an accused, while his other accomplices fled from the scene.

Jungshahi Railway Police officials have said that it was a sabotage act.

They said that the arrested man was being interrogated and will be transferred to Karachi for further investigations.●
