BARA: Four people, including a woman, were gunned down in the Spera Dam area of the Bara Tehsil of Khyber agency for allegedly indulging in adultery.

Reports said volunteers of the Sipah tribe raided a house and arrested Zia Din and Sheikh Muhammad Sheikhi, both Afghan refugees, Said Rukh and an unidentified woman, for committing Zina in Alam Godar in the night between Sunday and Monday.

On Monday, they were presented before Shura members, where they confessed to their crime.

The executions, watched by some 600 people, were ordered by a Jirga of tribal elders, Jirga member Haji Jan Gul said.

"They were drunk. The woman and her companion admitted they indulged in this business because they had to repay some debts."

The bodies were later handed over to their families.
