SRINAGAR (IHK):
Two persons were injured when an explosive- laden car was set off near a
police station on Srinagar-Jammu national highway on Tuesday.
Media reports quoting official sources in Srinagar said the car was parked
by militants on the highway about 100 metres from a police station, 45 km
from Srinagar in Anantnag district.
The explosion rocked the area.
According to KMS Indian troops, in their fresh acts of state-terrorism,
martyred two more innocent Kashmiri youth, during a siege and search
operation, at Qazipora in Bandipora district.
An innocent girl was also injured in the violent operation. The operation
sparked forceful anti-India demonstrations in the area.
The enraged protesters, raising full-throated slogans against Indian
state-terrorism, told media men that the troops had also committed sacrilege
to the bodies of the martyred youth.
Indian police resorted to repeated baton-charge to disperse the
demonstrators who set on fire a vehicle. About half-a-dozen demonstrators
were injured in the incident.
A large number of people staged a strong protest at Pattan in Baramulla
district against the anti-people policies of the puppet regime. The
agitating protesters blocked the traffic on Srinagar-Baramulla highway for
several hours.
A civilian was killed and two others were wounded in a landmine explosion in
Buffliaz area of Poonch district.
Unidentified assailants shot at and injured the district President of
pro-India Congress, Muhammad Shafi Banday in Shopian area.
Four Indian policemen and four civilians were injured in separate road
mishaps in Pattan, Kunzar and Handwara areas.●
