President Musharraf Chairs National Security Council Meeting  
'Pakistan Times'

ISLAMABAD: The National Security Council (NSC) meeting reviewed the current political situation in the country, especially the judicial crisis.

President Pervez Musharraf is presiding the meeting, which is attended by Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, chief ministers of the four provinces, chiefs of three armed forces, Chairman Senate Muhammadmian Soomro, Speaker National Assembly Chaudhry Amir Hussain, NSC Secretary-General Tariq Aziz and Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao.

Opposition leader in the National Assembly Maulana Fazlur Rehman boycotted the NSC meeting.

Interior Minister Aftab Sherpao is likely to brief the NSC on law and order and the proposed Pak-Afghan grand Jirga.

The overall law and order situation of the country, especially with reference to Fata, ongoing operation in tribal areas and issues relating to the Karachi carnage would come up for discussion during the meeting.
