ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Tourism Nilofar Bakhtiyar has decided to withdraw her resignation following directives of Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and PML chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain. She will resume her duties from today (Thursday).

Sources in the ruling PML told this news agency on Wednesday that the PML Central Executive Committee (CEC) had unanimously decided to endorse a resolution for the rejection of Niolofar's resignation.

The resolution was tabled in the PML CEC meeting by Kabir Ali Wasti and Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri.

The party leaders demanded of the prime minister to reject Nilofar's resignation and direct her to resume her duties.

The sources said PML President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Secretary-General Mushahid Hussain Sayed held separate meetings with Nilofar and asked her to withdraw her decision.

During the PML CEC meting, Shujaat praised Nilofar for her services and asked her to take back her resignation.

In the end, Nilofar withdrew her decision and decided to resume her duties with the Ministry of Tourism from today (Thursday).

Earlier, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz had rejected the resignation of Tourism Minister Nilofar Bakhtiar.

"I have not accepted her resignation," the prime minister was quoted as saying by the APP while talking to reporters late Tuesday.
