KABUL: Suicide attacks and other explosions across insurgency-hit Afghanistan this month have killed 85 people, 15 of them foreign nationals, the NATO-led force said Wednesday.

The dead included about 40 Afghan civilians, a spokeswoman for NATO's International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) told reporters.

"This month so far 85 people have been killed" by improvised explosive devices and suicide bombings, Lieutenant Colonel Angela Billings said. Fifteen were foreign nationals, civilians and military personnel, she said.

The explosions had wounded about 250 people -- 60 of them foreigners, Billings said without providing details.●
