Pakhtoon Jirga announces Strike on June 8-10 in Sindh

KARACHI: Pakhtoon Action Committee (PAC) Loya Jirga Wednesday announced to defer three-day strike call to June 8-10.

The PAC had earlier decided to postpone the tree-day strike after an assurance by Governor Ishrat-ul-Ebad that the problems will be resolved within 14 days period.

A meeting of Pakhtoon Action Committee in Karachi today also discussed various alternate proposals to the strike.

The meeting decided to put off the three-day strike, subject to approval by the Pakhtoon Jirga.

The Loya Jirga has now announced the three-day strike on June 8, 9 and 10.

An Earlier report had said that Pakhtoon Action Committee (PAC) Wednesday decided to postpone three-day strike to protest against May-12 incidents.

The decision has been made after an assurance by Governor Ishrat-ul-Ebad that the problems will be resolved within 14 days period.

A meeting of Pakhtoon Action Committee today, Wednesday discussed various alternate proposals after an assurance given by the governor of Sindh.

According to the sources the meeting decided to put off the three-day strike call, however the final decision will be made by the Jirga.

Sindh Governor meets Asfandyar

Meanwhile, Governor Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ibad Khan met with Awami National Party (ANP) Chief Asfandyar Wali and offered condolences over killings on May 12.

Pakhtoon Action Committee (PAC) chairman Shahi Syed received the governor on his arrival at Mardan House. Provincial advisor Salahudin Hyder was also accompanied with the governor.

After half an hour meeting, Governor Sindh told newsmen that the purpose of this meeting was to offer condolences for the deceased of May 12 tragedy and no other issue was came under discussion.

Replying to a question, governor said that he was out of the country after May 12 tragedy and he visited Asfandyar Wali to offered condolences soon after his arrival.

ANP Chief Asfandyar Wali said that he is thankful to governor who came for condolence. He said that political difference should be resolved in a political manner.

Replying to a question regarding May 25 strike call, Asfandyar said that PAC was given the call, which would take its decision independently.●
