Pakistan's Top Economic Managers to attend

ISLAMABAD: The top
Pakistani economic managers led by Advisor to the Prime Minister on Finance
and Revenues, Dr. Salman Shah will visit Washington soon to attend Spring
meeting of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Official sources said Wednesday that the Spring Meeting will be held from
April 14-15 at Washington.
The high level delegation led by Dr. Salman Shah will consist of Advisor
Finance Ministry and Director General Debt Office, Dr.
Ashfaque Hassan Khan, Secretary General Finance Navid Ashan, Secretary
Finance Tanvir Ali Agha, Governor State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Dr. Shamshad
Akhtar, they added.
The official sources said that the delegation besides attending the meeting,
will meet President of the World Bank Paul Wolfowitz, Deputy Managing
Director of IMF Mr. Portugal, US officials in the USA treasury and State
Department, Head of International Finance Corporation (IFC) Lars Thunell,
Chairman EXIM Bank James Lambright and others.
Furthermore, the delegation will also be attending conferences on Pakistan
arranged by think-tank in Washington.
The delegation will highlight the prudent structural and economic reforms
and investment friendly policies initiated by the government during the past
six years.
Some of the members of the delegation will be meeting the senior officials
of International rating agencies, such as Standard and Poor’s and Moody’s in
New York, they said.●
