Curfew clamped at Tank in NW Pakistan

PESHAWAR: Administration has imposed curfew in Tank for unspecified period Wednesday after tense situation at the NWFP town.

Nazim Tank Riaz Kandi said that security forces have started patrolling in the town and the situation was under control.

Earlier, IG Police Frontier Sharif Virk told a private television channel that the town has been sealed due to deteriorating law and order and efforts were underway to bring the situation under control.

All entry routes of the town being kept under surveillance and patrolling has been increased.

Unknown persons last night carried out rocket attacks and opened firing at police station, FC fort and other government installations that damaged these buildings. Two persons including an FC man were killed in these attacks.●
